The Practice
Lakay Pye Bwa is a Haitian Vodou healing practice founded by Dako — Haitian Vodouisant, Shamballa Reiki practitioner, and spiritual life coach. Since 2019 this practice has held space for those seeking transformation through Reiki healing, spiritual readings, and ancestral life coaching.
In Vodou, the lwa are not distant forces. They walk with us. They speak through the body, through dreams, through the places where we feel stuck or called forward. This practice honors that understanding in every session.
Whether you come for a single Reiki session, a spiritual reading, or the deeper container of coaching — you are met by someone who walks with the ancestors and serves the lwa. What we offer is not a treatment. It is a return.
Three Pathways
In Haitian tradition the body is not separate from the spirit. Reiki Bodywork is one integrated practice — Reiki energy, massage techniques, and assisted stretching working as a single unified session. What releases is simultaneously physical, energetic, and ancestral.
Shamballa Reiki offered alongside the understanding that the lwa and the ancestors work through every willing practitioner. Hands-on or distance sessions that reach the patterns beneath the physical — the chakras, the ancestral field, the places where life force has become blocked or dimmed.
The ancestors speak. Through Vodou-rooted spiritual readings, sustained coaching, and ancestral guidance, this work helps you hear them clearly and respond to what they are calling you toward. This is the work that goes beneath the surface of any single session.

Dako’s initiation into Haitian Vodou is rooted in the tradition of Kharla Jean and the Wayom Tribe — a Haitian Vodou botanica, spiritual teaching practice, and sacred community dedicated to preserving and transmitting the living traditions of Haiti.
Kharla Jean is Dako’s manman, his spiritual mother in the tradition. Through her guidance, mentorship, and the sosyeteè she holds, Dako was shaped as a Vodouisant who serves the lwa with integrity, honors the ancestors with intention, and carries the tradition forward with the seriousness it demands.
The work offered at Lakay Pye Bwa is inseparable from this lineage. Every reading, every healing session, every coaching conversation is offered in the spirit of what was passed down: to walk with the lwa honestly, to serve the community with purpose, and to keep the tradition alive in the hands of those it belongs to.
The Practitioner
I am a Haitian Vodouisant. I serve the lwa. I walk with my ancestors. This is not a metaphor or a cultural identity I wear lightly. It is the foundation from which everything I do flows.
Growing up Haitian American in Boston, Vodou was never the caricature the world tried to sell me. It was my grandmother’s prayers, the way my family moved through grief and illness and celebration, the understanding that the dead do not leave us, that the lwa are always nearby, that healing is always also spiritual work.
Your body remembers home. This work is how we find our way back.
I work with the body as a whole system: physical, energetic, ancestral. Reiki Bodywork opens the physical pathways with Reiki energy flowing through every movement and every touch. Shamballa Reiki works the energetic and ancestral body directly. Spiritual readings and coaching work with the lwa, the ancestors, and the currents of your life that are calling for attention.
Clients who come to Lakay Pye Bwa are often carrying things that have no clinical name. A grief that won’t move. A pattern that repeats no matter what they do. The sense that something is calling them that they don’t yet know how to answer. An ancestral wound that surfaces as chronic pain, as recurring loss, as a life that won’t open despite every effort. This work meets all of it. Because in Vodou, all of it is connected.
My formation as a Vodouisant was shaped by my manman, Kharla Jean, founder of Wayom Tribe. Through her lineage, her sosyete, and her instruction, I learned what it means to serve the lwa with integrity, to hold space for the ancestors with care, and to carry this tradition with the responsibility it requires.
I built this practice because the people who most need Vodou-rooted healing are the least likely to find it in mainstream wellness spaces. Because Haitian tradition belongs in the hands of Haitian practitioners. Because the lwa called me to this work, and I answered.

Before You Book
Do I need to practice Vodou or believe in it to receive healing?
No. Many clients come with no background in Vodou and no prior experience with ancestral healing. You only need to come honestly and with an open spirit. The lwa do not require belief — they require sincerity. The work meets you where you are.
What actually happens in a spiritual reading?
A reading rooted in Haitian Vodou tradition. Dako creates sacred space, the lwa are invited to speak, and the session is shaped entirely by what the spirits bring and what you carry in. You will not be asked to perform or perform belief. You arrive. The work begins. You leave with clarity you did not have before.
How is Reiki different here than standard Reiki?
Dako is a Shamballa Reiki practitioner who is also a Haitian Vodouisant. This means the Reiki is offered within a Vodou frame — the lwa are present, the ancestral field is acknowledged, and the energy work moves through multiple layers simultaneously. This is not standard wellness Reiki. It is energy medicine held within a living spiritual tradition.
Is distance Reiki as effective as in-person?
Yes. Distance does not diminish the work — the energy does not need physical proximity to move. Shamballa Reiki at the distance level was specifically developed for remote healing. Dako has worked with clients throughout North America and internationally via distance sessions with the same depth as in-person work.
What is the difference between the Arc and the Coaching?
The Ancestral Healing Arc is a structured five-session bodywork and energy healing series — hands-on, chakra-focused, physically and energetically integrative. Spiritual Life Coaching is a monthly container of conversation, Vodou-rooted spiritual direction, and ancestral guidance. One works primarily through the body and energy field. The other works through the word, the spirit, and the life.
How do I know which service is right for me?
Start with the Introductory Consultation. Thirty minutes with Dako will make the right next step clear. If you are drawn to the physical and energetic body, the Reiki Bodywork or the Arc is likely your path. If you are carrying questions about your life, your purpose, or your ancestral lineage, the readings or coaching will meet you. The practice reveals what you need when you arrive for it.
